Royal International Air Tattoo

The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the world's largest military airshow, held annually. It typically attracts between 150,000 to 200,000 spectators and features upwards of 200 aircraft from around the globe, showcasing military displays and static aircraft exhibitions.
Wales - Tour of Britain
September 2025
The 2025 Tour of Britain spanned six stages and 886 km, with Romain Grégoire taking overall victory. Olav Kooij dominated sprints, while Victor Vercouillie claimed the mountains jersey. The race featured dramatic climbs, unpredictable weather, and a Cardiff finale marking Geraint Thomas’s emotional farewell.

We’re Goya and Mark – two retirees with a shared passion for travel, discovery, and living life to the fullest. After decades of work and family commitments, we decided that retirement wasn’t the end of adventure – it was the beginning of a new chapter. Today, we spend our time exploring the world, one journey at a time, and sharing our experiences to inspire others to embrace the freedom that comes with this stage of life.
Our story began with a simple idea: to make the most of every opportunity. Whether it’s a weekend escape in our beloved campervan Margo, a long-haul flight to a bucket-list destination, or a spontaneous road trip across Europe, we believe that adventure doesn’t have an age limit. From the rugged moors of Dartmoor to the sun-soaked beaches of South Africa, from the bustling streets of Budapest to the tranquil vineyards of the Douro Valley, we’ve discovered that the world is full of wonders waiting to be explored.
What makes us tick?
Vanlife Freedom: Our campervan has opened up a world of possibilities. We love the flexibility to park up near festivals, coastlines, or mountain trails, and wake up to views that hotels can’t offer.
Photography & Cycling: Goya is passionate about photography – from capturing fast-moving aircraft at RIAT to framing sunsets over Lake Bled. Mark’s love for cycling means many of our trips include scenic rides, challenging climbs, and quiet country lanes.
Cultural Immersion: We’re not just about ticking off tourist spots. We seek out local cuisine, meet interesting characters, and dive into the history and traditions that make each destination unique.

Epic Road Trips: 5,000 miles across 15 countries in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, exploring iconic cities like Vienna, Budapest, and Dubrovnik.
Wild Escapes: Hiking and wild camping on Dartmoor, the only place in England where it’s legal in designated areas.
Global Journeys: South Africa for Big Game, Malaysia for vibrant culture.
Bucket-List Events: Bristol Balloon Fiesta, Tour of Britain, and the Royal International Air Tattoo – all experienced through the lens of vanlife.
